What happens if I lose my USB key?
Your cold recovery key can rotate a new operational key into the vault, with no funds ever moving and no change to your vault's address. This is why the recovery key must be kept separately and offline.
What happens if I lose both keys?
Nobody — including us — can recover the vault. That's what "non-custodial" means. Back up your keystore files (they're just encrypted files, copy them freely) before you need to.
Is Vorka audited?
Not yet. The contracts are public source, but no independent external audit has been completed. This page will be updated the day one is.
How is this different from Ledger or Trezor?
They use a certified secure element that can't export its key — safer against a compromised host, but the key can't be duplicated either. Vorka is a plain encrypted file: cheaper, and you can back it up yourself, but the host machine matters more at the moment of signing. See the security page for the full comparison.
Do I need a seed phrase?
No. Your key is an encrypted keystore file protected by a password you choose — nothing to transcribe onto paper or type into a website.
